McMahon Funeral Directors was established in early 1977 by John McMahon who also managed a very successful Newsagents at the Market Sq., Cavan Town.
The firm of McMahon Funeral Directors introduced the art of embalming to the people of Cavan and surrounding areas in the year of 1978. This was a little-known process in our area at that time and needed a lot of explaining. Since then, we are lucky to have six fully qualified and professional embalmers on our team.
In the year 1989 we bought a site at Farnham Road, Cavan, designed and built the first Funeral Home Facility in the County of Cavan. Again, being a first, this venture needed a lot of explaining, and how it would help with the provision of a professional Funeral Business.
In 1995 John was joined in the business by his son Philip, who is fully experienced in all facets of the Funeral business and they are supported by a full team.
We pride ourselves on our professionalism and good practice, attention to every detail, full and meaningful discussion with the family and providing lots of time to get everything just right.
We are full members of the Irish Association of Funeral Directors since 1980 and have pledged our services to the guidelines prepared by that excellent body of professional people.
